Always and Forever

Author: Mary Wismer.

My Love, might I dare say to you.
You’ve wonderful but words,
like leaves fall at your feet.
Since ancient days the foes penned,
Golden Images of love.
I know words will never say enough.
For all of the others that will come after us.
Well leave them a legacy of our love.

There’s nothing more than I could ever long for.
Until the day I die, we’re leaving all we love
behind for the dream we share, and there’ll be
many tears along the way.

When the storms rage all around us,
and try to tear us apart. We made it through
I know that the Golden images of love
bound us one, forever and always.
I will be here, looking after you
Stand by your side, whatever comes.
My love for you is always there.
Until the very end, always and forever
as the future unfolds, our love still there.

Until the day of my last breath…..I love you!

you are here by my side
to have you….hold you….
to share with, care with
and i’m so glad he made you!

This is the love
that the Lord hath made
Love Mystery is unfolding today.
To hold hand and say….you are more
than a dream come true….

I love you more
and I will Rejoice

Crossing the Miles

Author: Mary Wismer.

Some of the most wonderful memories
Are of the holidays
We‘ve spent together—
So it‘s a little strange
Wishing you a merry Christmas
From far away.
It just won‘t be the same
Without you here.
But I want you to know that even though the miles
Come between us,
Memories of our times together
Warm my heart and make the season brighter.

Unspoken Words

Saturday
Apr 12,2008

Author: shweta tripathy.

Some words cannot be said,
Cannot be expressed
Just wished you were beside me whenever I was depressed.
Days will become nights,
Flowers will bloom bright
Everything still the same,
Then why I feel someone left my lane………

Unspoken, untouched
You left me without a single hug.
Won’t say I cannot live without you,
But can say I wished to live with you…..

Wonders were many
But still I will wait to get those tender touches
Waiting for you life long
Memories are many to jot down,
Knowing you won’t be there in the town.
Still waiting for you
Someday hoping to see you

If ever I had seen those mighty hands.
Wished I could hold that flowing sand
Time waits for none
And my dear friend you are gone

Author: Nicole Hester-Francis.

As I flip through the pages of ‘Behind Her Smile’ I begin to breath the air that only a lover of poetry can inhale or can understand for that matter. Careful not to bend or soil the pages, I dive in mentally and creatively, purposely reciting lines to pieces that have acclaimed my heart. I shutter in praise at the poem titled ‘Beautiful, Black Woman’ and my spirit dances to the rhythm of the poem titled ‘Mothers Love’. LaBord even touches on the realms of the erotic with pieces like ‘Reservation for Two’ which she performed on ‘The Real Deal’ BlogTalk Radio show during ‘The Black Poetry Café’ open ‘mic night’. Throughout the pages of ‘Behind Her Smile’, you will find the author’s true capability to capture an audience with her medley of poetic passions. The Reader can easily identify with the voice in each poem.

Sabrina LaBord was born in Augusta, Georgia; the third of four sisters. During her third month of life, due to LaBord being born with a beam-pelt complexion, (which deemed evidence of a marital affair), LaBord was left in the care of her maternal grandmother, Lillie Mae Moody. Her grandmother (Momma) became everything to her.

Sabrina acquired the ability at a young age to transform hampering and irritated thoughts of emotions to paper. Her grandmother’s words were law- no what ifs, ands, buts, questions, nor explanations were allowed. To vent her frustrations, Sabrina would find a quiet corner and scream everything she dared not speak onto paper. These ink-stained impressions LaBord would tear up into numerous micro pieces and get rid of the evidence so Momma wouldn’t find out about it. Little did LaBord know that she was building the foundation and setting the ‘stage’ for her writing gift. “Get angry. Get too angry ’cause that’s a double dose and some of us need it most. Some anger is what we need to turn our words into deeds” stated LaBord. After losing her grandmother to cancer in the year 2000, Sabrina found herself writing again as a means to cope with the flood of emotions she experienced. LaBord shared her poems with a close friend who suggested she ‘do something’ with them. Some years later after her grandmother’s death, LaBord gave re-birth to her creative pen once more and decided to put her poems into a compilation.

Today, Sabrina LaBord is a loving wife, mother, poet and a soldier in the United States Army. LaBord stated that “Smiling is contagious. Let’s start an epidemic.” This is truly what we need in our society more distinctive smiles, don’t expect any two pieces to be the same in ‘Behind Her Smile’! LaBord continues to write and aspires to pursue a career in Education after retiring from military service.

Love Remind

Saturday
Apr 12,2008

Author: Tsutsu Rin.

What is the most beautiful thing in earth?

What is the most precious thing for you?

How were you born in this world?

Do you still remember?

What makes you become hopeless?

Do you know that?

When the moon showing in the sky,

You give her a hug and touch her skin tenderly,

You forgot what you want to do when she lying beside you,

You thought everyone is disappear except both of you,

You naturally hold her with all of your strength.

When the sun begin to shine,

You found out that you are just awake from dream,

You remind yourself that she is gone,

You start to cry screaming inside your heart that she is the only one you want to hold,

You tell the air that you can’t live without her.

You finally realize that love is the most beautiful thing.

You finally realize that she is most precious people for you.

You hate yourself because you’ve forgot that you’re reach this world by love.

You hate yourself because you’re the one who make her feel hopeless and thus leaving this world.

Home is the Foundation of Love

Author: Mary Wismer.

The thing we long for, that we are like the night
Of cloudless climes and starry skies;
whose lives you have touched and who have
touched yours are always a part of you,
even if the encounters were less than you
would have wished. What you feel you lack in the present may
become one of your strengths in the
future. May you see your future as one
filled with promise and possibility. May the teachings of those
you admire become part of you, so that
you may call upon them.

Find time in
each day to see beauty and love in the
world around you. Realize that each
person has limitless abilities, but each
of us is different in our own way
May you not become too
concerned with material matters, but
instead place immeasurable value on the
goodness in your heart
A loving heart is the truest wisdom.
In every rill a sweet instruction flows.
May the teachings of those
you admire become part of you, so that
you may call upon them.
May you see your future as one
filled with promise and possibility
even if the encounters were less than you
would have wished. What you feel you lack in the present may
become one of your strengths in the
future yours are always a part of you,
even if the encounters were less than you

The thing we long for, that we are like the night
Of cloudless climes and starry skies;
Find time in
each day to see beauty and love in the
world around you. May you not become too
concerned with material matters, but
instead place immeasurable value on the
goodness in your heart
obscure and subtle, but to know
That which before us lies in daily life,

Share your knowledge. It’s a way to achieve immortality.
Remember that the best relationship is one in which your love for each other exceeds your need for each other.
A loving atmosphere in your home is the foundation for your life

In disagreements with loved ones, deal only with the current situation. Don’t bring up the past.

Chemistry Christmas

Saturday
Apr 12,2008

Author: johny sastro.

‘Twas the night before Christmas,
The lab was quite still;
Not a Bunsen was burning
(Nor had they the will).
The test tubes were placed
In their racks with great care,
In hopes Father Chemistry
Soon would be there.

The students were sleeping
So sound in their dorms,
All dreaming of fluids
And Crystalline forms.
Lab-Aids in their aprons
And I in my smock.

When outside the lab
There arose such a roar
I leaped from my stool
And fell flat on the floor.
Out ot the fire escape
All of us flew.
What was the commotion?
Not one of knew.

The flood-lights shone out
O’re the campus so bright
It looked like old Stockholm
On Nobel Prize Night.
My fume-blinded eyes
Then viewed (dare I say?)
Eight anions pulling
A water-trough sleigh.

And holding the bonds
Tied to each one of them
Was a figure I knew
As our own Papa Chem.
With speeds in excess
Of most X-rays they came.
As they Dopplered along
He called each one by name.

“Now Nitrite, now Phosphate,
Now Borate, now Chloride
On Citrate, on Bromate,
On Sulfite and Oxide.

Forget what you know
Of that randomness stuff,
Let’s go straight to that roof,
If you’ve quanta enough.”

As fluids Bernoullian
Behave in a pinch,
Those ions said “Alchemist
This is a cinch.”
So up to the lab-roof
Those “chargers” they sped
With Pop Chemistry safe
In his water-trough sled.

Just a microsec later
Electroscopes showed
Charged particles coming
To our lab abode
We raced back inside,
And what d’ya think?
Down the fume-hood Pop Chem fell,
Right into the sink.

He was dressed in a lab-coat,
Quite ragged and old,
With removable buttons
(The style, we’re told)
A tray-full of beakers
He clutched to his heart–
And under his arm
Was an orbital chart.

His eyes through his goggles
I just couldn’t see
His hands were all yellow
From H-N-O-3.
His head was quite bald
With a fringe all around
Like a ring test for iron,
That same shade of brown.

He puffed a cigar
With a smell not at all
Unlike the organic lab
Right down the hall.
The smoke billowed forth
From his angular face
And with Brownian Movement
Enveloped the place.

He was thin as a match
And not terribly tall
He wasn’t the type
I’d expected at all
But a look at his clothes,
In the lab’s harsh white light,
With their acid-burn holes–
He’s a chemist all right!

He didn’t say much
(He had no time to kill)
And filled all the test tubes
With nary a spill.
Then placing them bak
On the benches with care
He dashed to the fume-hood
And rose through the air.

He called to his team
And his ions took off
And kinetics took care
Of Pop Chem and his trough,
But I heard him cry out
As he flew down the street
“Merry Holidays to all!
May your stockrooms stay neat!”
